On the Lag Ba’omer tragedy at Mount Meron

Dear Friends

Our thoughts and our prayers are with those lost loved ones in the tragedy that unfolded yesterday in Israel – at Mount Meron on the festival of Lag Ba’omer.

We also pray for the full and speedy recovery for those who are injured in body and mind. May they be healed along with all those who are suffering and in pain.

We offer our gratitude to the responders, the first aiders and the hospitals that are caring for the wounded.

For all those grieving, injured, broken and bereft – we offer this Psalm prayer. Baruch Dayan Emet.

Psalm 121 – A Song of Ascents

I Lift my eyes to the Mountain peak –

Where does my help come from?

It comes from you

Maker of Heaven and Earth

Who holds my foot firm on the path up

Who’s constantly present

Everywhere aware.

Look!

With you there’s no obscurity

Nothing is dim, asleep, inert

To those who question and struggle

You respond, keep hold, give cover

So that by day the sun won’t burn

Nor by night the moon mesmerise

You guard against evil

Enfold and reveal the soul

Guard my arrival

Secure my departure-

Now

Always
